THERE IS HOPE.

Back in November, we said if we can just get over this bridge to where everyone is vaccinated, perhaps we can live normal lives. But, that lifestyle has gone forever; as are, tragically, the many lives gone with it. However, there will be a new normal, and in many ways it will be better. Here are some signs of a better future:

  • More people working from home=less commuting, less carbon.
  • More companies acting responsibly. See ESG trend here.
  • Biden climate initiatives and leadership.
  • Increased Asian wet markets regulation
  • Vaccines!
  • Reduced biomass of livestock due to more people eating meat substitutes…less methane, one of the potent of the greenhouse gasses!
  • Danish climate minister said he’s “optimistic”: inclusion of US in Paris Agreement, cessation of oil exploration. 40% of it’s energy comes from wind power. Setting an example…
  • Pandemic fiscal relief has opened the door to bold climate initiatives–10 0f the worlds largest economies have agreed to reach net-zero emissions much earlier.
  • There are financial rewards for carbon neutral economies.
  • The list is growing…

However, unless we understand the root cause of the virus, our future is dubious. And if we don’t stop climate change there will be no future for our species on earth.

What we can do is conflate the two problems. Why? Because they are codependent. And that’s what I’ll be discussing in my next blog. See you then!

In the meantime,
here is some escapist fiction...all free!
